33. Formal Translation And I did not know Him {Iesous, Coming Messiah}, but He who sent me to baptize with water, that One said to me, “Upon whom you see the Spirit descending and remaining upon Him, this is He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit {pneuma hagion, divine presence}.” |
33. Dynamic Translation I myself did not know who He was, but the One {Theos, Sender of Messiah} who sent me to baptize with water told me, “The person you see the Spirit coming down on and staying with—He is the One who baptizes with the Holy Spirit {pneuma hagion, God’s life-giving power}.” |
