Avoid the question and change the subject

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I confess that I have sinned and trusted my own way instead of your truth. I turn from my sin and ask you to forgive me. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I confess you as Lord and ask you to lead my life. Write your word on my heart and keep me close to you. Amen.

Come to Jesus in Truth

Lord, revive your church to love your written word, to handle it with humility, and to answer hard questions with faithfulness and grace. Keep us from pride, from empty arguments, and from speaking without listening. Make us a people who point others to you, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Renew Your Church in Your Word

Father, when I am challenged, keep me from reacting out of fear or pride. Give me a love for your word, the patience to search it carefully, and the courage to answer with truth and gentleness, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Help Me Answer Well

Before a difficult conversation, pray by naming the question, asking God to bring the right Scripture to mind, and asking for a calm spirit that listens before speaking.

Pray Before You Respond

Thank God for Scripture that corrects you, for truth that is already given, and for Jesus who treats God's word as trustworthy and enough.

Grateful for Your Written Word

Pray for people who question faith, for believers who must answer them, and for conversations where Scripture is handled carefully and pride gives way to humility.
