Keep listening and seek understanding rather than dismissing it.

Assume the problem is only with Jesus, not with your hearing.

Open My Ears to You

Lord, revive your Church to listen to Jesus with humble hearts. Where we have treated your words lightly or grown content with confusion, wake us up again. Give us patience, discernment, and joy in your teaching, so we become a people who truly hear and follow you, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Revive Your People to Understand

When a teaching of Jesus feels hard to understand, pray by naming the passage, asking God for patience, and inviting him to show you one clear next step before you move on.

Pray Through a Hard Passage

Thank God for Jesus, who keeps teaching even when people do not understand right away. Thank him for patience, for truth that can be trusted, and for the mercy that keeps drawing learners back.

Pray for people who are puzzled by Jesus' words, that they would not give up, harden their hearts, or settle for shallow answers. Ask God to give them curiosity, humility, and help from Scripture and wise believers.

Lord, forgive me for the times I rush past what I do not understand or assume I know enough already. Give me a humble, teachable heart that keeps listening until your truth becomes clear, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
