As people who take what is not theirs, by stealth or force

As people who were only earlier in time, with no judgment attached

As people whose words the sheep treated as trustworthy

As people who stayed silent and never tried to lead anyone

Compare it with Jesus and refuse what pulls you away from him

Follow it if it sounds confident and comes from a respected person

Wait only to see whether it helps your own plans

Assume that any spiritual-sounding voice is safe

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and followed voices that were not from you. I turn from my sin and ask you to forgive me. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. Be my Lord and Savior, and help me hear your voice and follow you alone. Amen.

Receive the True Shepherd

Father, revive your Church so we can recognize the voice of Jesus above every false voice. Make us quick to listen, slow to follow what is deceptive, and faithful to guard your people from harm. Wake us up to your truth and renew our first love, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Revive Our Hearing

Father, when many voices compete for my attention, help me recognize what comes from Jesus and what does not. Give me a steady mind, a humble heart, and courage to ignore what misleads me, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Help Me Hear Clearly

Pray for: people who are being misled by persuasive voices; pastors, teachers, and leaders to speak truth clearly; and those who are weak or confused to be protected and led toward Jesus.

Guard the Sheep

Father, thank you that Jesus speaks with truth and care, not like false voices that take and mislead. Thank you that his voice leads, guards, and gives life. Help me notice his voice and trust him more deeply, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Thank You for the Right Voice

Name one voice competing for your attention. Ask God to expose what is false, to help you compare it with Jesus' words, and to give you grace to obey what is true today.
