He is not addressing every person in the group the same way

He is saying no one in the group matters to him

He is speaking only to people who are not present

He is announcing that all of them were chosen in the same way

Guard trust carefully and stay faithful, even when loyalty is costly

Keep your options open so you can protect yourself first

Use closeness and shared trust only until it stops being convenient

Assume betrayal is inevitable, so integrity does not matter much

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and have not been faithful to you. I turn from my sin and from every hidden betrayal of my heart. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I trust you as my Lord and Savior. You know me fully, and I ask you to receive me and make me yours. Amen.

Known and Chosen in Mercy

Lord, revive your Church where our hearts have become divided. Keep us from false loyalty, secret compromise, and careless words against you. Make us steady, truthful, and faithful at your table, and let your word be fulfilled in us as you shape your people for yourself, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Make Your Church Faithful Again

Give thanks for Jesus' full knowledge, for his deliberate choosing, and for the way God's purposes stand even in betrayal. Thank him for seeing you completely and still calling you to himself.

Thank You for Knowing and Choosing

Pray by naming one place where your loyalty has been divided, then ask Jesus to make your heart single, honest, and steady before him.

Honest Loyalty

Lord, when trust is fragile and betrayal hurts, give me grace to keep faith, to refuse bitterness, and to act with integrity when it costs me, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Grace to Stay Faithful

Pray for someone who has been betrayed, for healing in a strained relationship, and for every place where God has entrusted you with the care of another person's trust.
