The Father will give Jesus glory right away

Jesus will receive that honor only after a long wait

The crowds will decide whether it happens

The honor will stay with God and never reach Jesus

God will honor Jesus from within his own being

Let God receive the credit and aim to honor him in the outcome

Make sure people notice your role so the success reflects on you

Keep the result as your private win and avoid naming God

Wait to thank God until other people bring him up

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and I need your mercy. I turn from my sin and from living for my own glory. I believe you died for me and rose again. I confess you as Lord, and I ask you to be glorified in my life. Make me yours and lead me in your way. Amen.

Receive Me, Lord Jesus

Lord, revive your Church so that we seek the glory of Christ above our own. Where we have become self-focused, turn us back to your Son. Let his honor shine through our worship, our witness, and our love, and do it quickly among us, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Glorify Christ in Your Church Again

Thank God that his glory is not hidden, but made known in Jesus. Give thanks that the Father is not silent or distant, and that his honor can be seen in the Son and received with confidence.

Thanksgiving for the Glory Revealed

Name one place where you want recognition, then ask God to purify your motives. Ask him to receive the glory in that situation and to teach you patience while you wait for his timing.

Pray for God-Centered Motives

Father, train my heart to value your glory more than my own. When I am praised, keep me humble; when I am waiting, keep me trusting; when I am tempted to hurry ahead, keep me steady, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Teach Me to Want Your Glory

God, when your work feels slower than I want, remind me that you act at the right moment. Quiet my fear, steady my heart, and help me rest in your wise and faithful timing, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
