A new instruction calling for mutual love

A warning to avoid relationship altogether

The command is about gaining honor from others

Take the first step in practical, self-giving care for someone in the church

Wait until the other person proves they deserve your kindness

Offer warm words while keeping your time and care untouched

Love mainly by correcting others from a distance

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and that my love has often fallen far short of what you call for. I turn from my sin and ask you to forgive me. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. Thank you for loving me first. I receive you as my Lord and Savior, and I ask you to make my life new. Teach me to love as you have loved me. Amen.

Receive the Love You Need

Lord, revive your Church to be known for the kind of love you command. Where we are cold, self-protective, divided, or proud, soften us and make us quick to serve one another. Let the love we show reflect the love we have received from you, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Revive Your People to Love

Pray by naming one person you struggle to love, asking Jesus to help you see them the way he sees you, and asking for one practical step of care you can take today.

Pray Through One Hard Relationship

Thank God for loving you before you learned to love well; for Jesus' example that makes the command clear; for the people in your life who have shown patient, costly love; for fresh grace to receive and give that love today.

Thank You for Loving First

Pray for a friend, small group, or congregation: for patience, unity, forgiveness, practical care, and the courage to put others first so the church looks like Jesus' love.

Love in the Body of Christ

Father, I confess the times I have withheld love, preferred myself, or waited for others to make the first move. Forgive me, and help me obey Jesus with a willing heart, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
