Lord, revive your Church where pride has taken root. Make us eager to take the low place, quick to notice practical needs, and glad to serve without seeking applause. Teach us to love like Jesus, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Pray by naming one task you usually avoid because it feels small. Ask God to make you willing, and then ask him to show you one practical way to serve someone today.

Ask for a Humble Heart

Father, I confess that I often want the important place and resist the lowly task. Forgive my pride, my reluctance to serve, and my desire to be noticed. Shape me after Jesus, who took the servant's place for his disciples. Give me a willing heart, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
