Exegesis

This is further specified by the relative clause introduced by hō {ᾧ | hōi} ‘which,’ whose antecedent is lentiō, and the verb phrase ēn diezōsmenos {ἦν διεζωσμένος | ḗn di-e-zōs-mé-nos} ‘he was having been girded,’ a periphrastic construction combining imperfect of eimi with a perfect passive participle to describe a prior, continuing state: the towel already wrapped around Him.
