The disciples must earn the help by perfect obedience

The helper will only come for a short season

Ask God for help and also become a steady support to someone else

Wait passively until the problem disappears, since help should feel automatic

Try to look spiritually strong so no one notices you need help

Seek help only from people who can repay you later

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and I need your mercy. I turn from my sin and from trying to save myself. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I confess you as my Lord, and I trust you to bring me into the Father's care. Please forgive me, give me new life, and help me live under your loving lordship. Amen.

Receive the One Who Helps

Lord, awaken your Church to trust the Father as Jesus did. Where we have become self-reliant, teach us to pray. Where we have grown weary or isolated, send fresh help and make us a people who carry your steady presence to one another, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Revive Your Church to Ask and Receive

Pray by naming one area where you need the Father's help, then ask him to provide steady, lasting support through his Spirit and through faithful people around you.

Ask the Father for Help

Thank God that his help is not temporary. Thank him for Jesus who asks the Father on your behalf, and for the gift of a helper who stays with you.

Thank You for Unfailing Help

Father, I lift up someone who feels alone or overwhelmed. Please give them the help they need, place faithful people beside them, and let them know your presence is near, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
