There are many living spaces in the Father's home

Jesus is going away to make a place ready

The disciples must build the place themselves

Jesus says he would have told them if the claim were false

The number of places depends on how deserving people are

Live with hopeful calm and make your spaces welcoming to others

Delay obedience because the future home will handle everything later

Treat belonging with God as something you must earn first

Act as though this life is the only home that matters

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I confess that I have sinned and tried to make my own way. I need the home and life only you can give. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin and receive you as my Lord. Bring me into your grace and make a place for me with you. Amen.

Come Home to Jesus

Lord, revive your Church so that we become a true home of welcome and hope. Where we have become closed, fearful, or self-protective, make us open-handed and ready to receive the lonely. Let the promise of the place you are preparing shape our life together, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Make Your Church a Welcoming Home

Father, thank you that your home has room enough and that Jesus goes ahead to make a place ready for us. Teach my heart to rest in your generous welcome, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Thank You for Room with You

Lord, comfort those who feel displaced, uncertain, or without a place to belong. Give peace to anxious hearts and remind them that they are not forgotten, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Peace for the Unsettled

Pray by naming one fear about the future, then ask the Father to let Jesus' promise of a prepared place steady you. Finish by asking for one way to live more openly and welcomingly today.

Pray the Promise Back

Bring these to God: your habit of holding too tightly to your own space; your need to trust Jesus' promise; your willingness to become more generous, open, and welcoming to others.
