No one chose anyone; they simply volunteered

Live in a way that produces steady good and continues beyond the moment

Wait for spiritual results while doing very little, because fruit is God’s part alone

Focus mainly on private success, since fruit is only personal growth

Do a burst of activity for a short time, even if nothing lasts

Bringing requests that fit Jesus’ character and priorities, trusting the Father to answer

Using a fixed closing phrase so every request is guaranteed

Treating Jesus’ name like a magic key for personal desires

Asking for anything at all without considering Jesus

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and tried to live life my own way. I turn from my sin and from ruling myself. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I believe you are Lord, and I receive you as my Savior. Thank you for choosing me and giving me new life. Amen.

Father, awaken your Church again. Free us from choosing ourselves first, and remind us that Jesus chose and appointed us for a purpose. Make our lives fruitful, and let what you grow in us remain for your glory. Teach us to ask in Jesus’ name with faith and humility, and answer in ways that draw many to you, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Wake Your Church to Fruitfulness

Thank God for choosing and appointing you before you could earn his favor. Thank him for giving your life a purpose, for the call to bear lasting fruit, and for hearing prayer that is brought in Jesus’ name.

Pray by naming one area of your life where you want fruit that lasts. Ask Jesus to shape your motives, your habits, and your relationships, and then ask for one clear next step that will help that fruit grow over time.

Pray for Lasting Fruit

Pray for one person who needs to encounter Jesus’ purpose for their life. Ask that they would come to Christ, be set on a fruitful path, and begin to see lasting change in their words, choices, and relationships.

Fruit for Someone Else
