They would also receive the message his followers brought

They would start rejecting every later messenger

They would only listen if the speaker was better known than Jesus

They would never accept spoken teaching from anyone

Opposition aimed at Jesus also comes to his followers

People who received Jesus' message may also receive the followers' message

The followers will avoid any suffering at all

Everyone will respond to the followers exactly the same way

Keep obeying Jesus and keep speaking his message with steadiness

Push back harder so no one thinks you are weak

Hide the message until people seem more welcoming

Treat every disagreement as proof that you should stop speaking

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I know I have sinned and need your mercy. I turn from my sin and from ruling my own life. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I confess you as Lord and ask you to lead me, even when following you brings rejection. Thank you for saving me and making me yours. Amen.

Receive Jesus as Lord

Lord, revive your Church where fear of rejection has made us quiet or careless. Give us courage to hold fast to your word, humility to bear pressure without bitterness, and love that keeps speaking truth. Awaken us to follow you faithfully in every place. in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Make Your People Steady

Father, when I feel opposed for following Jesus, steady my heart. Help me remember that your Son walked this road first, and keep me from fear, anger, or compromise. Let his words stay close to me today. in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Start by naming one place where you expect pushback. Ask God for calm courage, a clear conscience, and a gentle way to keep Jesus' teaching visible without hiding it.

Pray for Courage to Stay Faithful

Give thanks for Jesus' honesty, for the way he prepares his followers instead of surprising them, and for any moment when someone does receive his word. Thank him that opposition does not cancel his truth.

Thank God for Jesus' Warning

Pray for believers to keep speaking with grace when some resist and for receptive hearts to welcome Jesus' word through their witness. Ask God to make the church patient, courageous, and clear.
