They are expecting the promise, but sorrow is absent

Wait to trust until your feelings improve

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned, and I need your mercy. I cannot save myself or turn my sorrow into lasting joy on my own. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin and receive you as my Lord and Savior. Come into my life, stay with me in my grief, and give me the joy that no one can take away. Amen.

From Sorrow to Saving Joy

Lord, revive your Church with the hope of your coming and the joy that cannot be stolen. Where we are weighed down, lift us; where grief has made us silent, make us a people of steady confidence in you. Let our sorrow turn into worship and our pain into compassionate witness. Awaken us again, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Renew Your Church's Joy

Father, when sorrow feels heavy today, remind me that it is not the final word. Let my heart rest in Jesus' promise and keep me steady until joy rises again, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Lord, be near to everyone who is grieving right now. Let them know they are seen, remembered, and not abandoned. Bring them a hope that stays and a joy that cannot be taken away, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Near to the Grieving

Give thanks for Jesus' promise that sorrow does not last forever, that his seeing us again brings gladness, and that the joy he gives is secure. Thank God for hope that survives grief and for a heart that can be made glad again.
