The disciples will no longer keep questioning Jesus about anything.

They must prove they are worthy before asking.

Bring the need to the Father, trusting Jesus' name as your access.

Wait until you feel spiritually impressive enough to deserve an answer.

Treat prayer as a last resort after you've solved it yourself.

Ask Jesus instead of the Father, because the Father is less approachable.

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and gone my own way. I turn from my sin and ask your forgiveness. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I confess you as my Lord, and I receive your gift of new life. Bring me to the Father and lead me from now on. Amen.

Come to the Father Through Jesus

Lord, revive your Church to come to the Father with confidence in Jesus' name. Deliver us from prayerlessness, from self-reliance, and from timid hearts. Teach us again to bring every need to you with faith, and let our prayers carry your peace and power into the world, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Renew the Church's Prayer

Start with one clear need. Speak it to the Father plainly, then place it in Jesus' name and trust his promise to hear and give what is good.

Pray the Request

Thank God that prayer is not shut down, that the Father listens, and that Jesus opens the way for us to ask boldly and honestly.

Grateful for Access

Ask God for a steadier habit of bringing real needs to the Father, less hesitation, more trust, and a heart that depends on Jesus' name instead of its own merit.

Growing Confidence in Prayer

Father, I lift up anyone who has grown weary, doubtful, or silent in prayer. Draw them back to you through Jesus; renew their confidence that you hear, and let them bring every need to you with fresh trust, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
