The disciples recognize that the Father sent Jesus

The world already understands the Father clearly

The disciples figured Jesus out without any sending from the Father

Treat Jesus' teaching as coming from the Father and respond to it

Keep that insight private because it is only for personal comfort

Assume everyone already knows God, so witness is unnecessary

Focus on ideas about God while leaving Jesus' mission out of the picture

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and tried to live without truly knowing the Father. I need your mercy. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin and trust you as my Savior and Lord. Bring me to the Father, and teach me to live in your light. Amen.

Come to Know the Father Through Jesus

Lord, revive your Church to know you truly and to honor Jesus as the one you sent. Forgive us when we have lived as if knowing you were only information. Awaken love, humility, and bold witness in us so that a world that does not know you can see your Son among us, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Wake Up Your Church to Know You

Thank you, Father, for making yourself known through Jesus. Thank you that Jesus truly knows you, and that you draw disciples into that same knowledge. Keep my heart grateful for the gift of knowing you rather than living in spiritual distance.

Thank You for Making Yourself Known

Pray by naming one area where God feels distant to you, then ask Jesus to lead you into clearer trust in the Father. Ask for one next step of obedience that matches the fact that Jesus has come from the Father.

Pray for Clearer Knowledge

Father, lift the veil from those who do not know you. Let them see Jesus as your sent one, not merely as an idea to study. Give friends, family, neighbors, and nations a real encounter with your truth, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

For Those Who Do Not Know You

Bring these to God: a desire to know the Father more deeply; humility to receive Jesus' witness; courage to trust what the disciples knew; and willingness to live as someone sent into the world.
