It won people’s admiration through visible success

It showed complete independence from any assignment

It started the work but left the rest unfinished

Do the work God gives, aim to honor him, and see it through

Choose tasks that make you look impressive to others

Start several good projects and let finishing them slide

Wait for a larger assignment before taking today seriously

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and gone my own way. I cannot make myself right with God. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. Thank God for Jesus’ obedience, for a life that honored the Father, and for the assurance that what he was given, he finished. Give thanks that God's glory is shown through faithful love and completed work.

Name one responsibility, ask God to show you whether it is from him, and ask for strength to finish it for his honor rather than your own.

Pray Over the Work in Front of You

Bring these to God: the desire to value his honor above applause; grace to finish what you start; patience when the work feels ordinary; courage to be faithful in hidden places.

A Heart That Wants God's Glory

Pray for believers who are tired, distracted, or discouraged; for leaders, parents, students, and workers to complete what God has entrusted; and for every good work to bring glory to the Father.
