He replaced God's identity with another message

He left them to figure it out on their own

They earned this through their own effort

Speak and live in ways that point others to who God is

Keep your faith private so no one notices

Use God's name only when you want to impress people

Wait until you feel fully qualified before speaking

Agree with it in theory but set it aside when it is inconvenient

Use it mainly as a tool to sound wiser than others

Wait for a more dramatic sign before doing anything with it

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I know I have sinned and I need your mercy. Thank you for making the Father known and for coming for people like me. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin and trust you as my Lord. Bring me into your care, teach me to know God, and help me keep your word. Amen.

Receive Me and Teach Me Your Way

Lord, revive your Church to make your Father known clearly. Free us from shallow speech and hidden lives; make us a people who belong to you and keep your word with joy. Draw many from the world into your care, and let your name be honored through us, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Reveal the Father Again

Pray by naming one place where you need God to show you who he is, ask him to make that part clear, and then ask for one practical step that will help you respond faithfully this week.

Pray for Clear Knowledge of God

Thank God that he knows his people before they prove anything, that he gives them to Christ, and that he keeps them in a place of belonging.

Thank God for Belonging

Pray for people who feel far from God: that he would bring them near, entrust them to Christ's care, and help them hold fast to his word.

For Those Drawn from the World

Father, you have made yourself known to me. Help me treat your word as precious, not casual. Give me a steady heart that keeps what you say and a life that helps others see your character, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
