So the disciples would finally understand everything

So a new teaching would replace the old one

The earlier statement reached its intended outcome

Treat the people and responsibilities God gives you as something to guard carefully

Leave people unattended once they become inconvenient

Focus only on results, since individual people matter less

Assume that good intentions are enough even if care is inconsistent

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and I need your mercy. I turn from my sin and trust that you died for me and rose again. I believe you are Lord, and I ask you to receive me, forgive me, and keep me as your own. Thank you for saving me. Amen.

Receive Me and Keep Me

Lord, renew your Church with the keeping heart of Jesus. Make us faithful with people, promises, and callings; keep us from carelessness; and teach us to value every person you entrust to us. Awaken us to protect, serve, and remain steadfast, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Revive a Faithful Church

Lord, thank you that none of those given to Jesus is forgotten or lost. Thank you for the peace and confidence that come from being held by him, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Thank You for Safe Keeping

Pray by naming one person or responsibility you have been tempted to neglect. Ask God to help you be attentive, patient, and dependable, and to show you one concrete way to care for it today.

Pray for Steady Care

Pray for: people who feel forgotten or overlooked; leaders, parents, and friends who need wisdom to care faithfully; and a deeper trust that God does not lose those he has given to Jesus.

For Those Who Feel Unseen

Bring to God any carelessness with people, promises, or responsibilities; any fear that makes you pull back from faithful care; and a willingness to become more watchful and trustworthy.
