Stay quiet and avoid any visible response.

Focus on the symbol but ignore the suffering behind it.

Use religious language while keeping a mocking attitude.

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, you wore a crown of thorns and were shamed for me. I admit that I have sinned and cannot save myself. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin and confess you as my Lord and Savior. Wash me, forgive me, and lead my life. Amen.

Receive the One Who Bore Shame

Lord, revive your Church so we do not take lightly the One who suffered shame for us. Make us a people who honor Jesus with reverence, speak of him with courage, and stand with those who are mocked or overlooked. Wake us from numbness, and renew our compassion, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Revive Your Church to Honor the Mocked King

Lord Jesus, thank you for bearing the thorny crown and the shame meant for you. Thank you for remaining faithful when others tried to dishonor you. Teach me to worship you with gratitude and reverence, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Thank You for Bearing Shame

Father, strengthen believers who are laughed at, pressured, or shamed for following Jesus. Give them calm courage, clear words, and a steady love that does not return insult for insult. Keep them near you when they feel alone, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Strength for the Ridiculed

Pray by naming one place where you are tempted to laugh, stay silent, or join ridicule. Ask God for a reverent heart, a kinder tongue, and the courage to honor Jesus and protect the dignity of others.

Pray Before You Join the Crowd

Bring these to God: anyone being shamed or mocked; your own habit of staying quiet when contempt is happening; the need for a deeper reverence for Jesus; courage to stand beside the vulnerable.
