Exegesis
The second half turns to a beatitude: makarioi {μακάριοι | ma-ká-ri-oi} is fronted for emphasis, and the articular participial phrase hoi mē idontes kai pisteusantes {οἱ μὴ ἰδόντες καὶ πιστεύσαντες | hoi mē i-dón-tes kai pis-teú-san-tes} functions substantivally to describe a whole class whose faith is not dependent on physical sight.
The negative mē {μὴ | mē} marks the absence of sight, while kai {καὶ | kaí} binds the two participles into one unified description of believing without seeing.
