Treat the Son with the same reverence given to the Father

Respect him as a wise messenger, but not with equal honor

Honor the Father and leave Jesus out of that devotion

Show him honor only after he proves himself

The Son is to be honored in the same way as the Father.

Failing to honor the Son also means failing to honor the Father.

Only religious leaders are responsible for honoring the Son.

If the Father is honored, the Son can be ignored.

Give Jesus the same reverence, trust, and obedience you offer the Father

Keep Jesus in a separate category from your devotion to God

Honor the Father directly and treat Jesus as optional

Speak respectfully about Jesus but let daily choices follow your own preferences

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit my sin and my need for you. I have not honored you as I should, and I turn from my sin now. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I confess you as Lord and ask you to forgive me, lead me, and teach me to honor you and the Father who sent you. Amen.

Receive the Son

Lord, revive your Church to honor the Son as we honor the Father. Forgive us for half-hearted devotion and divided loyalties. Awaken fresh reverence for Jesus in our worship, our speech, and our obedience, so the world can see your people living out true honor, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Revive Us to Honor the Son

Father, thank you for sending your Son and making him worthy of our full honor. Thank you that we are not left guessing whom to trust and worship. Help our gratitude grow into a life that points to Jesus with joy, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Thank You for Sending the Son

Father, forgive me for the times I have claimed to honor you while ignoring your Son. Expose every place where I have minimized Jesus or kept him at a distance. I turn from that sin and ask you to make my heart whole, so that I honor the Son as I honor the Father, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Forgive My Divided Honor

Start by naming one area where Jesus is easy to praise but hard to follow. Ask God to make your honor for the Son visible in one real choice today, and then thank him for helping you obey.

Pray for a Heart that Honors

Pray for people who know about God but still hold Jesus at arm's length. Ask that they would see the Son clearly, receive him truly, and come to honor the Father who sent him.

In order that all may honor the Son  just as they honor the Father . Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.
