That their trust in Moses guarantees approval

Re-check whether your confidence really rests on Jesus' truth

Use your religious knowledge to prove you are already right

Lean harder on a respected teacher or tradition

Ignore the warning and trust your sincerity

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and trusted the wrong things. I have leaned on myself and on what cannot save me. I repent and turn from my sin. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I confess you as Lord, and I ask you to be my Savior and my true hope. Amen.

Receive the True Hope

Lord, wake your Church from false confidence in reputation, knowledge, and tradition. Where we have leaned on what cannot save, humble us and turn us back to your Son. Give us ears to receive your truth, hearts quick to repent, and faith that rests in Jesus alone, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Renew Your People’s Confidence

Father, I confess that I sometimes trust familiar voices, religious habits, and my own efforts more than Jesus. Expose that false hope in me, and lead me to genuine repentance and simple trust, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Turn My Hope Back to Christ

Pray by naming one place where you may be leaning on a person, a tradition, or your own goodness instead of Christ. Ask God to show you the difference, and ask for one humble next step that will move your trust toward Jesus.

Pray for Clear Eyes

Bring these before God: a teachable heart, freedom from defensiveness, courage to let Jesus correct your assumptions, and deeper confidence in his truth than in human approval.

Learning to Welcome Correction

Pray for people who feel secure because of family background, religious knowledge, or respected teachers, that they would see Jesus clearly and place their hope in him.

For Those Trusting the Wrong Hope
