6. Formal Translation But this they were saying, testing Him, so that they might have something with which to accuse Him. But Jesus {Iesous, Calm Judge}, having stooped down, was writing with His finger on the ground, not paying attention to them. |
6. Dynamic Translation They said this to test Him, hoping to gain a basis for accusing Him. But Jesus {Iesous, Wise Responder} bent down and began writing on the ground with His finger, as though He did not notice them. |
