Source Text: Hebrew (WLC) Judges 15:13:1 ⧉וַיֹּ֧אמְרוּvayomeruand they said Judges 15:13:2 ⧉ל֣וֹloto him Judges 15:13:3 ⧉לֵאמֹ֗רlemorsaying Judges 15:13:4 ⧉לֹ֚אlono Judges 15:13:5 ⧉כִּֽי־אָסֹ֤רkiasorbut binding Judges 15:13:6 ⧉נֶֽאֱסָרְךָ֙neesarkhawe will surely bind you Judges 15:13:7 ⧉וּנְתַנּ֣וּךָunetanukhaand we will give you Judges 15:13:8 ⧉בְיָדָ֔םveyadaminto their hand Judges 15:13:9 ⧉וְהָמֵ֖תvehametand to put to death Judges 15:13:10 ⧉לֹ֣אlonot Judges 15:13:11 ⧉נְמִיתֶ֑ךָnemitekhawe will put you to death Judges 15:13:12 ⧉וַיַּאַסְרֻ֗הוּvayaasruhuand they bound him Judges 15:13:13 ⧉בִּשְׁנַ֙יִם֙bishnayimwith two Judges 15:13:14 ⧉עֲבֹתִ֣יםavotimropes Judges 15:13:15 ⧉חֲדָשִׁ֔יםkhadashimnew Judges 15:13:16 ⧉וַֽיַּעֲל֖וּהוּvayaaluhuand they brought him up Judges 15:13:17 ⧉מִן־הַסָּֽלַע׃minhasalafrom the rock |
| 13. Formal Translation They said to him, “No; we will bind you securely and deliver you into their hand, but we will not kill you.” So they bound him with two new ropes and brought him up from the rock. |
| 13. Dynamic Translation They answered him, “No. We will simply tie you up and hand you over; we will not kill you.” Then they tied him with two new ropes and led him up from the cliff. |
