| 5. Formal Translation And the sons of Israel said, “Who is there of all the tribes of Israel who did not go up in the assembly to the LORD {Yahweh, Covenant Judge}? For the great oath had been taken concerning anyone who did not go up to the LORD at Mizpah, saying, ‘He shall surely be put to death.’” |
| 5. Dynamic Translation The Israelites asked, “Which member of all the tribes of Israel did not go up to the LORD {Yahweh, National Judge} at Mizpah? They had made a solemn pledge that anyone who did not appear there must surely die.” |
