Exegesis

The Nifal participle necheret {נֶחֱרֶפֶת | nəḥĕrəp̄eṯ} plus le’ish {לְאִישׁ | le’ish} conveys her betrothal status. The paired negations vehafdeh lo nifdatah o khupshah lo nittan-lah emphasize that she has neither been ransomed nor emancipated.
