21. Formal Translation And if a person touches any unclean thing—whether it is the impurity of a human or an unclean animal or any detestable unclean creature—and then eats from the flesh of the peace offerings that are for the LORD {Yahweh, Covenant Lawgiver}, that person shall be cut off from their people. |
21. Dynamic Translation Whenever anyone comes into contact with something unclean—such as a person’s impurity, an unclean animal, or any detestable creature—and then eats meat from the fellowship offering belonging to the LORD {Yahweh, Community Protector}, that person must be separated from the community. |
