Leviticus 7TAB

And this is the law of the guilt offering {asham: sacrificial restoration}; it is most holy {kodesh kadashim: utmost holiness}.

In the place where they slaughter the burnt offering {olah: wholly consumed gift}, they shall slaughter the guilt offering, and its blood he shall throw against the altar {mizbe’ach: place of sacrifice} all around.

And all its fat he shall offer from it: the fat tail {alyah: fatty appendage} and the covering fat {hamekasseh: protective layer} over the inward parts.

And the two kidneys and the fat {chelev: choicest portion} on them by the loins, and the lobe {yoteret: long lobe} above the liver near the kidneys, he shall remove it.

And the priest shall burn them on the altar as a fire offering to the LORD {YHWH, Atonement Receiver}; it is a guilt offering {asham: reparation sacrifice}.

Every male among the priests {ba-kohanim: Aaron’s descendants} may eat it; in a holy place {bemaqom kadosh: sacred precinct} it shall be eaten. It is most holy.

As the sin offering, so is the guilt offering; one law shall be for them. The priest {kohen: ordained mediator} who makes atonement {yekhaper: ritual covering} with it—for him it shall be.

And the priest {kohen: worship minister} who offers the burnt offering of any man—the skin {or: animal hide} of the offering which he has presented—shall belong to the priest as his own.

And every grain offering that is baked in the oven, and all that is made in the pan or on the griddle, shall belong to the priest {kohen: officiating minister} who presents {hamakriv: offers the sacrifice} it; to him it shall belong.

And every grain offering, whether mixed with oil {shemen: anointing substance} or dry, shall belong to all the sons of Aaron {Aharon: priestly lineage}, each man as his brother.

And this is the law {torat: instruction or decree} concerning the sacrifice of the peace offerings which one may offer to the LORD {YHWH, Covenant Sustainer}.

If he offers it as a thanksgiving {todah: acknowledgment offering} sacrifice, then he shall offer with the sacrifice of thanksgiving unleavened cakes mixed with oil, unleavened wafers anointed with oil, and cakes of fine flour {solet: fine sifted flour} thoroughly mixed with oil.

Alongside cakes of leavened bread he shall present his offering {korban: gift of approach} with the sacrifice of thanksgiving {todah: grateful acknowledgement} from his peace offerings.

And he shall take one loaf from each offering as an elevated contribution to the LORD {YHWH, Worship Receiver}; it shall belong to the priest who sprinkles the blood of the fellowship offerings {shelemim: covenant peace}.

And the flesh of the sacrifice of thanksgiving of his peace offerings {shlamim: fellowship sacrifice} shall be eaten on the day of his offering; he shall not leave any of it until morning {boker: ritual deadline}.

But if his offering is a vow {neder: binding promise} or a freewill offering, it shall be eaten on the day he presents it; and the remainder may be eaten on the next day {mimachorat: following day}.

And what is left over from the flesh {basar: animal meat} of the sacrifice on the third day shall be burned in the fire {esh: purifying flame}.

And if any of the flesh of his peace offering is eaten on the third day, it will not be accepted; the one who offers it will not be reckoned {yehasev: credited} to him, and it will be an abomination {pigul: repulsive offering}, and the soul who eats it will bear his guilt.

And the flesh that touches anything unclean shall not be eaten; it shall be burned in the fire. As for the flesh, anyone who is clean {tahor: ritually pure} may eat the flesh {basar: animal offering}.

And the soul who eats flesh from the sacrifice of the peace offerings {shalemim: communal fellowship} for the LORD {YHWH, Covenant Judge}, while his uncleanness is upon him, that soul shall be cut off from their people.

And if a person {nephesh: whole self} touches any unclean thing—whether it is the impurity of a human or an unclean animal or any detestable unclean creature—and then eats from the flesh of the peace offerings that are for the LORD {YHWH, Covenant Lawgiver}, that person shall be cut off from their people.

And the LORD {YHWH, Lawgiver} spoke to Moses, saying {leʾemor: quotation marker},

Speak to the Israelites {benei yiśrāʾēl: covenant community} and say, “You shall not eat any of the fat {ḥelev: sacrificial portion} of a bull, or of a sheep, or of a goat.”

But the fat of a dead animal {nevelah: independent death} and the fat of a torn one may be used for any work {melakhah: permitted work}, but you must not eat it.

For anyone who eats the fat from the animal from which one brings a fire offering to the LORD {YHWH, Covenant-Keeper}, that person {nefesh: individual life} shall be cut off from their people.

And you shall not eat any blood {dam: life substance} in all your dwellings {mōšəḇōṯēykhem: habitation sites}, whether from bird or from animal.

Every person who eats any blood shall be cut off {nikhretah: fully separated} from their people {ameiha: kin-group}.

And the LORD {YHWH, Covenant Speaker} spoke to Moses {Mosheh: appointed deliverer}, saying,

Speak to the sons of Israel and say, “The one who brings near his sacrifice of peace offerings to the LORD {YHWH, Worship Recipient} shall bring his offering to the LORD from his sacrifice of peace offerings {zevach: consecrated gift}.”

With his own hands he shall bring the fire offerings of the LORD {YHWH, Divine Recipient}; the fat along with the breast he shall bring, and he shall wave the breast as a wave offering {tenufah: lifted dedication} before the LORD.

And the priest shall burn the fat {chelev: choice portion} on the altar, but the breast {chazeh: sacrificial part} shall be for Aaron and for his sons.

And the right thigh you shall give as a contribution {terumah: lifted offering} to the priest from your peace offerings {shalmeichem: communal fellowship}.

He among the sons of Aaron who presents the blood of the fellowship offerings {shelamim: communal offerings} and the fat—he shall have the right thigh {shok: priestly portion} as his share.

For the breast of the wave-offering {tenupah: ritual offering} and the thigh of the heave-offering, I have taken them from the sons of Israel, from the sacrifices of their peace offerings, and I have given them to Aaron the priest {kohen: set-apart official} and to his sons as a perpetual statute from the sons of Israel.

This is the anointed portion {mishkhat: official share} of Aaron and of his sons from the fire offerings of the LORD {YHWH, Offering Receiver}, on the day He presented them to serve as priests to the LORD.

This is what the LORD {YHWH, Commanding Covenant Giver} commanded to be given to them from the sons of Israel on the day He anointed them, as an everlasting statute {chuqat: perpetual command} for their generations.

This is the law {torah: authoritative instruction} for the burnt offering, the grain offering, the sin offering, the guilt offering, the ordination offerings, and the sacrifice of the fellowship offerings {shelamim: offerings of peace}.

Which the LORD {YHWH, Lawgiver} commanded Moses at Mount Sinai on the day of the command {tsavto: authoritative instruction} for the sons of Israel to bring their offerings to the LORD in the wilderness of Sinai.
