The closing clause kai oudeis ouketi etolma auton eperotēsai {καὶ οὐδεὶς οὐκέτι ἐτόλμα αὐτὸν ἐπερωτῆσαι | kaí oudeís oukéti etólma autón eperōtêsai} uses the imperfect etolma "was daring" with the complementary aorist infinitive eperotēsai "to ask" to describe an ongoing state in the past in which no one any longer dared to question Jesus.
