The temporal marker heos tou nyn {ἕως τοῦ νῦν | héōs tou nyn} ‘until now’ completes the backward-looking time span, while the closing clause kai ou me genetai {καὶ οὐ μὴ γένηται | kaí ou mē génētai} employs the strong ou mē + subjunctive construction to deny any future recurrence: ‘and it will certainly not happen’.
