Exegesis

The imperative ide {ἴδε | í-de} introduces a demonstrative command: “See the place,” where ho topos hopou ethēkan auton {ὁ τόπος ὅπου ἔθηκαν αὐτόν | ho tó-pos hó-pou é-thē-kan au-tón} contains a nominative subject “the place” and a relative adverb hopou introducing a relative clause “where they laid Him,” with ethēkan as an indefinitive “they,” typical of narrative Greek when the agents are known from context. English renderings reorganize clauses into standard subject–verb–object order, preserve the divine passive with “has been raised,” and maintain the appositional identifications of Jesus while making implicit agents and settings clear enough for modern readers.
