They had not yet entered marital intimacy

They lived apart because the relationship had ended

They waited because they were unsure the child would survive

Waiting for God’s timing and honoring boundaries even when desire is strong

Moving ahead whenever feelings are sincere, because love makes delay unnecessary

Treating every boundary as temporary only until you get what you want

Avoiding commitment entirely so no hard waiting is ever required

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and cannot save myself. I turn from my sin and trust that you died for me and rose again. I believe you are the Savior God sent, and I confess you as my Lord. Come into my life, forgive me, and lead me in your way. Amen.

Receive the Savior Named Jesus

Lord, revive your church to honor the name of Jesus with purity, patience, and obedience. Where we have rushed ahead of your timing or treated your gifts lightly, teach us restraint and faithfulness. Make us a people who wait well and speak the name of Jesus with reverence, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Renew Your People to Honor Jesus

Thank God for the faithfulness that brought the Son into the world and for the name Jesus. Praise him for the care, purpose, and hope shown in this quiet family moment.

Thanks for the Gift and the Name

Father, give me grace to wait for your timing and to honor the boundaries you set. Keep me from acting on impulse, and shape my desires toward what is faithful and pure, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
