Lord, awaken your Church to hear your voice again. Where we have become distracted, dull, or selective, make us attentive and obedient. Give us ears that listen, hearts that respond, and lives that follow what you say. Revive us so that we do not merely hear words but are changed by them, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Wake Up Your Church to Hear

Thank God that he speaks clearly and that he gives people ears to hear. Give thanks for a word that has corrected, comforted, or guided you, and praise him for not leaving his people without direction.

Pray for an Attentive Heart

Lord, I often hear without really listening. Quiet my hurry, soften my resistance, and train me to receive your words with obedience, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Give Me Ears to Hear

Pray for: someone whose life is crowded with noise; a friend who has heard truth but has not yet responded; a home, school, or church setting where people would become more attentive to God.
