If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that my words and my life have sinned against you. I cannot justify myself by what I say or do. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin and receive your mercy. Forgive me, make me new, and let my words belong to you. I confess you as my Lord and Savior. Amen.

My Words Need Your Mercy

Lord, wake your Church from careless speech. Cleanse us from harsh words, deceit, exaggeration, and empty talk. Make our mouths truthful, humble, and life-giving, so that what we say reflects your justice and your mercy. Restore a holy fear of speaking wrongly, and teach us to speak in a way that honors you, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Revive Your Church's Speech

Pray by naming one conversation where you tend to speak too quickly or defensively. Ask God to slow you down, help you tell the truth, and give you words that are careful, humble, and clear.

Pause Before the Next Sentence

Father, I confess that I have used words to protect myself, win approval, or hurt others. Forgive me for careless speech and for the times I have spoken without truth or humility. Wash me clean, shape my heart, and train my mouth to speak what is right. Let my words belong to you, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Cleanse My Mouth

Pray for people who have been wounded by harsh, dishonest, or manipulative speech. Ask God for healing, wise boundaries, and peace. Pray also for those who have spoken wrongly, that they would repent and learn to speak with integrity.

For Those Hurt by Words

Thank God that he takes words seriously and warns us before careless speech becomes a habit. Thank him for exposing what needs attention, for giving us room to change, and for teaching us to value truthful, careful speech.
