He left the area by boat for a place away from people

He stayed where he was and kept teaching the crowds

He went back into the towns to speak to the people

Keep following, even when it takes effort and inconvenience

Wait until it is easy, and stop if seeking feels hard

Assume distance means he does not want to be found

Stay put and assume being nearby is the same as following

Stay in the busiest place because rest is always selfish

Wait until others arrange the break for you

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I have sinned and tried to live my own way. I turn from my sin and ask you to forgive me. I believe you died for me and rose again. I confess you as Lord, and I ask you to be my Savior. Lead me to follow you, even when it takes effort and cost. Amen.

Come to Jesus

Lord, revive your Church. When we are tired, distracted, or crowded by noise, teach us to seek your presence again. Give us the grace to step aside with you, and the courage to keep following you with steady hearts, so that our lives draw others to you, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Revive Our Seeking Hearts

Father, when life feels crowded and I need space to breathe, lead me to a quiet place with you. Give me rest without fear, solitude without loneliness, and the grace to hear your voice before I rush back into the crowd, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Quiet Place, Lord

Pray by naming one noisy situation that is wearing you down. Ask God for wisdom to step back in a healthy way, and then ask for perseverance to keep seeking Jesus rather than losing heart.

Pray for Wise Retreat

Pray for people who are searching for Jesus with effort and honesty; pray for believers who feel far away or delayed; pray for strength to keep going on foot when the easy path is not available.

Keep Following from the Towns

Thank God for Jesus' nearness in both quiet and crowded seasons; thank him for the grace to seek him, for the strength to withdraw when needed, and for the mercy that keeps drawing people to him.

Thank Him for His Presence
