Exegesis
The following clause kai ouk echousin ti phagosin {καὶ οὐκ ἔχουσιν τί φάγωσιν | kaì ouk É-khou-sin tí FÁ-gō-sin} adds their lack of food, using the subjunctive phagosin to speak of eating as a potential action that cannot occur.
