Jesus gives a disciple entrusted authority

A second earthly action is matched with heaven

The promise is about ending every conflict immediately

Pray, act humbly, and aim your choices at God's purposes

Use authority to settle matters quickly in your favor

Step away from responsibility so you cannot misuse it

Treat responsibility as proof that you should be admired

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I have sinned and tried to rule my own life. I need your mercy and your forgiveness. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin and trust you as my Savior and Lord. Bring me into your kingdom, and teach me to live under your rule. Amen.

Come Under Your Rule

Lord, revive your Church with humility and holy courage. Where we have treated your authority lightly, make us faithful; where we have been fearful, make us bold; where we have chased status, make us servants. Teach us to handle your trust with care so that life on earth reflects your reign in heaven, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Renew Your Church's Stewardship

Name the decision or conflict before God. Ask him what best fits his rule, and ask for the courage to do that one thing today.

Pray Before You Decide

Thank God that he does not leave his people aimless. Praise him for entrusting real responsibility, for ruling with wisdom, and for caring about what happens on earth.

Thank God for Entrusted Responsibility

Bring to God any desire to use influence for ego, control, or fear. Confess where your words or choices have not matched his will, and ask for a clean and obedient heart.

Lay Down Self-Serving Authority

Pray for pastors, teachers, parents, and anyone whose choices affect others, that they would be humble, fair, prayerful, and guided by God's wisdom.

Pray for Leaders and Decision-Makers
