Exegesis

The temporal conjunction heos hou {ἕως οὗ | héōs hoû} introduces a restricting clause, ho huios tou anthropou ek nekron egerthe {ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἐκ νεκρῶν ἐγερθῇ | ho huiòs toû anthrṓpou ek nekrṓn egerthḗ}, where the subjunctive passive projects the future divine act of resurrection. The English preserves the genitive absolute as a temporal clause and renders the subjunctive with completed future reference to the resurrection.
