Love the nearby person with the same care you want for yourself

Keep respect private but change nothing else

Speak and act with respect, and look for a practical way to care for them

Show respect only when they agree with you

Keep your distance so you do not have to deal with tension

Praise them publicly while ignoring real needs

Give nearby people the same practical concern, patience, and fairness you want for yourself

Help only when the person can return the favor

Care mostly in feeling while staying uninvolved in their needs

Limit love to people already in your close circle

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and have not loved God, my parents, or my neighbor as I should. I cannot save myself. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin and open my life to you. Be my Lord, forgive me, and teach me to live in honor and love. Amen.

Receive the Lord Who Teaches Love

Father, revive your Church so we honor those you have placed over us and love the people near us with real, costly care. Break pride, impatience, and selfishness in us. Make our communities known for respect, mercy, and practical love, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Revive Us in Honor and Love

Father, thank you for parents, caregivers, and all who have shown me patience, guidance, and sacrifice. Help me receive their love with gratitude and answer it with honor, patience, and practical help, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Thank You for the People Who Raised Me

Pray by naming one father, mother, or parental figure you want to honor this week. Ask God for one concrete way to show respect and one opportunity to follow through today.

Pray for One Act of Honor

Pray for the neighbor, coworker, classmate, or family member you find easy to overlook. Ask God to give you patience, fairness, and a readiness to help them with the same care you want for yourself.

Care for the Neighbor Nearby

Bring these before God: any habit of loving yourself more than others, any coldness toward the people near you, and any place where you need a more self-giving heart. Ask him to shape your love to look like his.
