Offer your best to the child with reverence, even if no one applauds

Admire him privately but keep your best possessions untouched

Give only something small so the cost stays low

Use generosity mainly to be noticed by others

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I confess that I have sinned and tried to hold on to my own way. I need you to forgive me and make me new. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin and open my life to you. I confess you as Lord, and I want to honor you as the worthy King. Amen.

Receive the Worthy King

Lord, revive your Church to bow before Jesus with sincere worship. Deliver us from empty religion, teach us to open our hands, and make us joyful to bring our best to Christ. Let our lives show that he is worthy, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Revive Our Worship

Thank God that Jesus is worthy of worship. Thank him for the chance to honor Christ not only with words but with real gifts, and for every treasure, skill, and resource he has placed in your care.

Thank You for the Worth of Christ

Pray by naming one thing you hold tightly, ask Jesus to show you how to open it in obedience, and listen for one concrete way to honor him with it this week.

How to Open What You Hold

Lord, make your people humble enough to bow before Jesus and generous enough to offer him our best. Free us from pride, fear, and selfishness, and let our worship become open-handed love, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

A Generous People

Bring these to God: a desire to honor Jesus above comfort; willingness to give without being seen; gratitude for the treasures already in your hands; and a heart that worships with action, not only words.
