People who seem lowest in status end up ahead.

People who seem most prominent end up behind.

People who are prominent now stay prominent.

Use any honor you have to serve and lift others, especially those people overlook.

Hold tightly to your position so you do not get moved down.

Assume being first now means you are more valued than others.

Leave the verse for later and keep ranking people the same way now.

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I confess that I have chased my own place and my own honor. I admit my sin and my need for mercy. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin and trust you as my Lord and Savior. Reorder my life under your rule and teach me to follow you even when it means letting go of being first. Amen.

Take My Place, Lord Jesus

Lord, revive your Church where we have loved being seen, praised, and first. Turn us back toward your kingdom way. Teach us to welcome the overlooked, to serve without grasping for rank, and to rejoice when you lift the lowly. Make us a people whose life together shows your reversal, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Revive a Humble Church

Bring these to God: the places where you feel last; the ache of being overlooked; the temptation to compare your place with others; the hope that God sees and orders rightly.

Trust Your Different Order

Name one place where you want to be first, ask God to loosen your grip on it, then ask him to help you notice and honor one person you usually pass by.

Pray for a Humble View

Thank God that he is not trapped by human rankings; he can raise the lowly, humble the proud, and give new worth to those the world overlooks.

Give Thanks for God's Reversal

Pray for someone who feels left behind, less important, or unseen; ask God to comfort them, give them dignity, and place faithful people around them.

Lift the Overlooked
