They were trying to take him into custody.

They stopped because he had just done a miracle.

Let the crowd decide whether to obey God.

Choose faithfulness even when approval feels costly.

Wait until everyone around you agrees first.

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and have feared people more than I have feared God. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. Lord, revive your Church. Where we have feared people more than you, give us holy courage. Where we have trimmed our witness to avoid conflict, restore truthfulness. Where we have forgotten how to honor Jesus in public, awaken fresh reverence and bold love. Make us steadfast when the world resists your Son, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Make Your Church Bold Again

Pray for: believers who are under pressure to stay quiet; courage to speak well of Jesus when it costs something; people around you to see Jesus clearly, even when leaders or peers resist him.

Stand with Jesus in a Resistant World

Pray by naming one place where human approval feels powerful. Confess the fear honestly, ask God to make his approval bigger than the crowd's, and ask for one faithful action you can take today.

Pray for Courage over Fear

Bring these to God: a clearer sight of who Jesus is; freedom from the noise of opinion; grace to honor truth even when it is unpopular.

See Him for Who He Is

Father, thank you that even in a room full of resistance, Jesus was still recognized for who he is. Thank you for every person who sees his true authority and speaks honestly about him. Make me grateful, clear-eyed, and unashamed, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
