Assume the invitation is only for more spiritual people

Ignore the invitation unless it repeats several times

Choose a ready yes and follow through without delay

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I have ignored your call and gone my own way. I admit my sin and my need for mercy. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin and open my life to you. Be my Lord and my Savior, and teach me to answer you with a willing heart. Amen.

Answer the Call of Jesus

Lord, revive your Church. Where we have grown distracted, hesitant, or unwilling, wake us up. Give us hearts that answer your call quickly and gladly. Make us eager to come when you invite us, and let our lives show joyful obedience, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Make Your People Ready

Father, thank you that you still send your call and do not stop inviting people to your joy. Thank you for patience, mercy, and grace that keeps reaching out. Help me honor your invitation with gratitude and readiness, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Thank You for Your Patient Invitation

Pray by naming one place where you tend to delay God's call. Ask him to soften your resistance, show you the next right response, and give you the courage to come quickly.

A Willing Heart

Bring before God any habit of postponing obedience, assuming someone else will answer, or treating his invitation as optional. Ask him for a willing heart and a faster yes.

Turning from Delay

Pray for people who have heard God's call but have not yet come. Ask the Lord to remove fear, distraction, and indifference, and to draw them into his joy.

For Those Who Hesitate
