Come together to listen carefully and seek what is true before reacting

Defend your side first so no one thinks less of you

Treat the report as unimportant and move on

Keep everyone separate so the issue never has to be faced

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned, resisted your truth, and trusted my own pride. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin and open my life to you. I confess you as Lord, and I ask you to make me new. Amen.

Receive the Lord Who Speaks Truth

Lord, revive your people when we hear truth and become defensive. Break our pride, quiet our arguments, and make us quick to listen and ready to come together in humility. Let your Church love what is true more than protecting its own side, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Make Your Church Teachable Again

Father, thank you that Jesus is wise and strong enough to silence false confidence and expose what is empty. Teach me to receive correction with gratitude instead of pride, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Thank You for Truth That Cannot Be Silenced

Pray by naming one place where you are defensive, ask God to soften that response, and then ask him to help you listen fully before you answer.

Pray for a Teachable Heart

Pray for churches, families, and friendships that are divided: that they would stop gathering only to defend themselves, and instead come together to seek truth, peace, and wisdom under Jesus.

For Divided Groups to Come Together

Lord, when I hear something that unsettles me, keep me from rushing to protect myself. Help me pause, listen well, and seek what is true with a humble heart, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
