They treated it as unimportant and walked away

They asked for more details before leaving

Answer promptly and make room for the call before lesser tasks

Keep going with what is already in front of you and reply later if possible

Treat the call as important in theory, but leave daily decisions unchanged

Wait until life is less busy, then respond more seriously

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I have ignored your call and gone my own way. I admit my sin and my need for you. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin and trust you alone as my Lord and Savior. Receive me, forgive me, and lead my life from now on. Amen.

Lord, I Will Not Turn Away

Lord, revive your Church where we have grown inattentive and slow to answer. Forgive us for treating your voice lightly and for letting lesser concerns crowd out your call. Make us quick to hear, quick to obey, and eager to follow you together, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Wake Us From Holy Indifference

Father, I confess how easily I put other things first and leave your promptings for later. Turn my heart from delay and distraction. Teach me to honor your call with a ready spirit, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

A Listening Heart

Pray by naming one area where you have been putting off obedience, then ask God for a willing heart and one clear next step. Listen quietly before you finish.

Ask for a Clear Response

Bring these to God: the work, habits, or ambitions that crowd out his voice; a desire to answer quickly; one responsibility where you need to choose obedience before busyness.

Less Noise, More Obedience

Pray for someone whose schedule is swallowing up their spiritual attention; for grace to notice God's invitation; for courage to answer it before other priorities take over.

For the Busy and Distracted
