Caring only about what is visible on the outside

Deal honestly with the larger issue instead of hiding behind tiny fixes

Keep perfecting minor details so the bigger problem will take care of itself

Assume that looking careful about small matters means you are already right with God

Focus only on what is easiest to correct first, and leave the rest for later

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have been blind to my sin and have needed your mercy. I confess that I cannot make myself right with God. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin and ask you to forgive me, lead me, and be my Lord. Open my eyes and make me yours. Amen.

Lord, revive your Church where we have become sharp about small faults but dull about what matters most. Give us clear sight, humble hearts, and honest lives. Keep us from polishing appearances while tolerating what is harmful, and make us faithful in the hidden places as well as the visible ones. Wake us up to your truth and your mercy, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Renew the Sight of Your Church

Father, forgive me for times when I have noticed tiny faults in others while overlooking bigger compromises in myself. Expose what I have been ignoring, and give me the humility to change. Teach me to care about what is truly right, not just what is easy to see, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Pray by naming one area where you may be focused on small issues while missing a larger obedience. Ask God to show you the bigger matter, to soften your heart, and to give you one honest step to take today.

Pray for Clear Sight

Pray for: leaders who see clearly and do not mislead; teachers who value truth over appearance; courage for the church to correct major wrongs, not just minor annoyances.
