Whether they once saw him in need and still did not help

How they could prove their faith by words alone

Whether he expected them to travel with him

Offer kind words but keep your resources back

Only help when the need is public and visible

Help only if the person has already earned it

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I confess that I have sinned and that I have failed to love and serve people in need. I cannot save myself. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin and trust you as my Lord and Savior. Make me new and teach me to follow you. Amen.

Receive Jesus and Turn to Him

Lord, revive your Church with the mercy this verse calls for. Where we have been slow to notice the hungry, thirsty, stranger, unclothed, sick, or imprisoned, wake us up. Give us eyes to see you in the overlooked and hands ready to serve with humble love, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Revive Our Compassion

Pray for people who lack food, clean water, clothing, shelter, health, or freedom. Ask God to provide what they need, to protect them from despair, and to send practical helpers into their lives.

For People Lacking What They Need

Confess any time you passed by someone in need, excused yourself, or chose comfort over mercy. Ask God to soften your heart, expose your excuses, and teach you to respond with steady, quiet service.

Forgive Our Neglect

Pray by naming one time God cared for you through another person, thank him for that mercy, and ask him to make you just as ready to help others this week.

Gratitude for Mercy Received

Pray for people who feel unseen, isolated, or cut off in poverty, sickness, or prison. Ask God to bring them comfort, safe support, and a faithful person who will notice and help.
