See the person as more than the label others use

Repeat what others say because the person is already known

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I come to you as one who has been held captive by sin. I admit that I have sinned and cannot free myself. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin and confess you as my Lord and Savior. Set me free, and make me yours. Amen.

Come to the One Who Frees

Lord, revive your Church so we do not live by headlines, labels, or reputation. Give us eyes to see people as you see them, hearts that honor their dignity, and courage to speak with mercy instead of contempt. Wake us up to love the people in front of us, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Revive Your Church to See People Clearly

Thank you, Father, that you do not leave people anonymous. Thank you for seeing names, stories, and burdens, even when the world only notices a label. Help me receive your personal care and extend that same dignity to others.

Thank You for Knowing Us by Name

Start by naming one person you are tempted to define by reputation. Ask God to help you see that person clearly, then ask for one gracious way to respond today.

Pray Before You Label

Pray for people in prison, people in detention, and people who are known mainly for the worst thing around them. Ask God to meet them with truth, mercy, and hope, and to give them their true identity in him.

For People in Custody and Those Written Off

Lord, I confess that I have too quickly reduced people to labels, rumors, or reputations. Forgive me for speaking without mercy and for forgetting that every person bears your image. Teach me to look with compassion and to treat others with dignity, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
