They must first prove their worthiness by suffering silently

Tell them to move on quickly so they will not stay sad

Explain why the hardship must be part of a bigger plan

Leave them alone so they can process without anyone else

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and I need your mercy. I turn from my sin and trust that you died for me and rose again. I confess you as Lord of my life. Meet me in my grief, forgive me, and make me yours. Amen.

Come to the Savior Who Comforts

Father, revive your Church with a tender heart for the sorrowful. Where we have been quick with answers and slow with tears, teach us to sit with mourners, carry comfort, and reflect the gentleness of Christ. Wake us up to love the grieving world around us, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Revive a Compassionate Church

Lord, I bring you the grief I carry today. Meet me with your comfort where I feel heavy, and help me receive your nearness without pretending I am fine. Hold me steady as I mourn, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Comfort My Grief

Pray for: people who are carrying fresh loss; those who feel unseen in their sorrow; friends and family learning how to be present; comfort that is tender, patient, and real.

For Those Who Are Mourning

Start by naming the loss honestly before God. Then ask him for comfort before you ask for explanations. Leave a quiet pause and let him meet you in the place that hurts most.

Praying When Grief Feels Too Heavy

Father, thank you that mourning is not ignored in your kingdom. Thank you for the promise that sorrow will be met with comfort, and for the hope that your care reaches the grieving. Help me trust you when my heart is tender, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
